My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Basil! He is a 3 yr old neutered male Chow Chow/Akita Inu/Jindo mix that weighs 64lbs. He came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 12/18 as a stray. At one time he did have a home where he lived indoors as he appears to be housetrained. He has been out on his own as can be seen by the matting on his hips and tail. With his breed he will need to be groomed regularly. At first, he wasn`t fond of having a leash on, but he is doing better. When leashed he does walk well and takes treats gently. He likes to be petted, but can aloof with others, and he will walk past and continue to investigate his surroundings. With other dogs barking he walked past with no interest, but we do ask if there will be another dog in the home to ask the shelter for a dog test. Basil would love to find his own loving family that gives him patience as he settles into his own home, where he has a secured yard to play in, but lives indoors with his human companions. Please come spend some time with him!
