Dog Name: Millie

Sex: Female

She's already been spayed.

Estimated Breed Mix: Hound/Husky

Approximate Age: 8 years

Approximate Weight: 60 lbs

Adoption Fee: $350

Millie was adopted back in 2017. The family that originally adopted her now has a toddler and infant. She's taken to protecting her adult humans and the newborn from the toddler of the family. There hasn't been a bite incident, but she's definitely stressed in her current environment and we want to avoid any incidents that could arise in her future. We're looking to find her a new home with all humans over the age of 10.

She loves long walks, cuddling (especially when it's cold), and running around the yard/park. Her favorite toy is a Benebone chew toy and bully stick are her favorite treat. She will mostly entertain herself with her toys, but on occasion will play fetch.

Millie is housetrained and knows the commands sit, stay, down, come, off, and leave it.

Her current family believes she would do best in a home with a fenced in yard or somewhere with a large yard in the country. They can trust her off leash at their park or in specific yards as she'll come when called.

She is reactive to other dogs when on walks. We also believe she will would do best as the only dog in the home, as that's what she's grown accustomed to.

Her family struggled with making the decision to surrender her because she can be so so loving and is very mush loved. Ultimately, it's in her best interest to find a home where she won't feel as stressed. She'll make a wonderful addition to the right family. Could it be yours?

Adoption Fee: $350

We are a Wisconsin state licensed dog rescue -WI# 402433

***We do not have a central adoption center at this time. All our dogs are in private foster homes within WI. At this time we only place our dogs in areas of WI. The breed of our dogs is our best guess with the help of our veterinarians.

Our Weight Classes are as follows:
0- 25lbs - Small
26- 45lbs - Medium
46-89 - Large
90+ X-large

If you are adopting an adult dog, which we consider 6 months of age or older, your adoption fee includes the following:

Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper shots, dewormed, flea & tick preventative, heartworm tested and microchipped.

If you are adopting a dog younger than 6 months of age, the dog will be up to date on the shots as per the dogs age. The dog will be dewormed, flea/tick preventative and microchipped. We only spay/neuter our dogs by 6 months of age. If you decide to adopt a younger dog than 6 months of age, they will need to be spayed/neutered by your veterinarian when they are 6 months to 1 year or age. Proof that the spay/neuter has been completed will need to be submitted to Tailwaggers911. Once proof of the spay/neuter has been received, we will refund $100 of your adoption fee via Venmo, PayPal or have a check in the mail within 15 days.  at one of our preferred clinics.

Once you are approved with our rescue, you can meet any one of our dogs within the fosters home. If you are interested in the dog you met, you can take the dog home under our mandatory foster to adopt program. You receive 5 days to see if the dog is the right fit for your home.

If it is, we will conduct the home visit and finalize adoption. If it is not, it is returned to the foster. We are happy to find you another dog that meets your needs in your home.

If a dog is listed as ADOPTION IN PROCESS, a family has met the dog and planning on adopting the dog after the home visit has been conducted. We always suggest sending in an application for a dog because there are times where the dogs are given back to us under the foster to adopt program. There are many reasons dogs are returned but normally it just was not the right fit for all.

Please go to
WWW.TAILWAGGERS911.COM under HOW TO ADOPT . We have an online application that is very easy to fill out.

Additional adoption info

To begin our adoption process, please visit http://www.tailwaggers911.com/howtoadoptapet.htm - there you can read more about our policies, our adoption area and fill out an online application. The applications are good for 90 days.

After being approved, you will receive an email and if the dog you are interested in is available, the foster for the dog will be in contact to set up a meet and greet to determine if this is the correct dog for your family/lifestyle. If so, you could begin our mandatory 5 day foster to adopt trial period, and if you decided to adopt, we would set up your home visit.
