Dog Name: Millie

Sex: Female

She's already been spayed.

Estimated Breed Mix: Hound/Husky

Approximate Age: 8 years

Approximate Weight: 60 lbs

Adoption Fee: $300

Millie is 8 years old, but still has plenty of energy. She'd love a family that will take her for regular walks or hikes. She also enjoys sniffing around the fenced in yard. Millie likes her personal space—she was very stressed out by young kids in her prior home. She'd need to be in a family with older kids who would be willing to give her space, and let her decide when to come to them for attention. Same with animal friends. She doesn't seem to have a very high prey drive, but she would need any friends to be respectful of her personal space. She met a Chihuahua who also is independent, and they did great together, doing their own thing. If other dogs bark at her on a walk, she'll engage, but if they show no interest in her, she matches the vibe.

Millie is very food motivated, so she would be easy to train. Not that you need to! She knows sit, stay, leave it, come, and off. She is fully potty trained, and doesn't need to be put in her crate at night or when you leave the house! She's happy to play with toys if she has extra energy, and starts crashing for the night by 8pm. She's a very respectful sleeper, staying on her side of the bed. When she's really excited, she might let you know by barking and howling, so she also needs somewhere that noise won't be an issue. She's great in the car as well, especially if it's warm enough to have the windows down so she can sniff all the smells!

Millie is super gentle when taking treats, and is the sweetest girl. She'd make a great companion for a small, active family! Could it be yours?

Adoption Fee: $350

We are a Wisconsin state licensed dog rescue -WI# 402433

***We do not have a central adoption center at this time. All our dogs are in private foster homes within WI. At this time we only place our dogs in areas of WI. The breed of our dogs is our best guess with the help of our veterinarians.

Our Weight Classes are as follows:
0- 25lbs - Small
26- 45lbs - Medium
46-89 - Large
90+ X-large

If you are adopting an adult dog, which we consider 6 months of age or older, your adoption fee includes the following:

Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper shots, dewormed, flea & tick preventative, heartworm tested and microchipped.

If you are adopting a dog younger than 6 months of age, the dog will be up to date on the shots as per the dogs age. The dog will be dewormed, flea/tick preventative and microchipped. We only spay/neuter our dogs once they're at least 6 months old. If you decide to adopt a younger dog than 6 months, they will need to be spayed/neutered by your veterinarian when they are between 6 to 8 months old. Proof that the spay/neuter has been completed will need to be submitted to Tailwaggers911. Once proof of the spay/neuter has been received, we will refund $100 of your adoption fee via Venmo, PayPal or have a check in the mail within 15 days.

Once you are approved with our rescue, you can meet any one of our dogs within the fosters home. If you are interested in the dog you met, you can take the dog home under our mandatory foster to adopt program. You receive 5 days to see if the dog is the right fit for your home.

If it is, we will conduct the home visit and finalize adoption. If it is not, it is returned to the foster. We are happy to find you another dog that meets your needs in your home.

If a dog is listed as ADOPTION IN PROCESS, a family has met the dog and planning on adopting the dog after the home visit has been conducted. We always suggest sending in an application for a dog because there are times where the dogs are given back to us under the foster to adopt program. There are many reasons dogs are returned but normally it just was not the right fit for all.

Please go to
WWW.TAILWAGGERS911.COM under HOW TO ADOPT . We have an online application that is very easy to fill out.

Additional adoption info

To begin our adoption process, please visit http://www.tailwaggers911.com/howtoadoptapet.htm - there you can read more about our policies, our adoption area and fill out an online application. The applications are good for 90 days.

After being approved, you will receive an email and if the dog you are interested in is available, the foster for the dog will be in contact to set up a meet and greet to determine if this is the correct dog for your family/lifestyle. If so, you could begin our mandatory 5 day foster to adopt trial period, and if you decided to adopt, we would set up your home visit.
