Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
A24059 Gabel is a brown and black colored, approximately 4-year-old, 91-pound, neutered male, German Shepherd/Chow mix.
He entered the shelter as an owner surrender on 12-03-2024 due to the fact he was just to big for his small children.
Gabel is a friendly, but a little timid and shy boy here at the shelter. Our staff says he is a friendly dog just trying to figure out this shelter environment and why he is here. He is still unsure and tries to move away from you when you go to leash him. Making him a little difficult to leash. But well behaved during our walks, walking calmly and nicely. He has had some training and will “sit” “shake” “down” “stay” and “come” upon command. He had no interest in other dogs here at the shelter. The previous owner says he is house broken and has lived with cats and children but not dogs. They also say he does not like collars, is sometimes food aggressive and some strangers make him nervous. Our staff recommends an adult only, or older kids only home. No small children. Gabel will be a loyal family member in his new forever home.
