Meet Chili!
Chili is a 10-month-old, 15-lb, Dachshund Mix.
Chili lives in a foster home with other dogs and cats and so far, she likes every animal friend she meets! She was surrendered to a shelter with several other dogs and was very shut down and frightened there. A foster home was a much better place for this sweet girl to thrive. She is still gaining her confidence and trust in people, but she loves treats and enjoys resting near her foster mom. Chili is very shy but wants so badly to be loved and is trying so hard to come out of her shell! She also lives with her foster dad, brother and sister (older children). She lets her foster family pet her, but gets frightened and shrinks away at sudden movements, so home with no smaller children would be best for her. In terms of house training, Chili has been using her potty pads because she is still nervous walking on a leash. She is also working on crate training. She feels safe in her crate but will sometimes bark when she's alone. She has made HUGE strides in a very short time with her socialization by using positive reinforcement and rewards. We are working with her and very optimistic that with a little time, encouragement and patience, she will make an excellent pet!
Some of her favorite things are her chew toys, greenies and Kongs stuffed with cream cheese!

All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
