My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

To help us make a great fit for you, and any of our dogs as well, please include information about yourself(Home, family, yard/fence, work hours, other pets...) and/or use our application at sparrowdogs.com. Those emails will get the quickest response, we do the best we can, but if we have to follow up with an email asking you about yourself and waiting for a response, well, we have already moved on to the next email that has provided the details. We are doing the best we can to find the right home for each dog or cat, just need your help too! :)

Finally after months on his own Bobo is ready for his very own forever family. Yes, hard to even imagine this little guy was running loose for months and somehow managed to survive. He was lucky enough for a community of people that cared for him and kept an eye on this elusive fella. But then two very special guardian angels had been working on winning his trust and soon Bobo was joining them and their little dog in their yard. They manage to capture him and bring him into their home, in the nick of time, it was going to be bitter cold that night. That was the luckiest moment of his entire life!!

Bobo did well in their home and they generously had him fully vetted, but they could not keep him. Their focus was on their sweet elderly dog. He joined another family for a few days before coming to our foster home. Bobo was a little anxious at first. We surely can't blame him, that was a lot for anyone to go thru, and he did not know who to trust. It took a couple of days but he has made himself totally at home. We are so happy, he is an awesome little guy.

He is sooooo smart, so much like our JRT that blessed us with his presence for almost 17 years. They are very people centered dogs, well, they are almost like little people themselves, so perspective and understanding. And funny...yes... they have a sense of humor. They are the perfect side kick if you are looking for someone to join you as a partner in life. They will be by your side. As much as they love snuggling on your lap, they are also in need of some big zoomies, nice walks and some play time.

Bobo is doing great with the other dogs in the house, it took him a little bit to be fully relaxed around them. He will be fine with a dog buddy or two, but he will also be perfectly fine as an only dog. He is not one that will do well being left alone for long hours. He will do well with an active retiree, or maybe someone that works from home? A fenced yard is a plus, older kids will be fine. Apparently he spent some time in a home with a cat, but the cat picked on him(poor guy!) His adoption fee is $300, and he will go home with plenty of supplies to help him settle into his new home. Please email Kristine at joysparrows@gmail.com.

Bobo is about 2 years old, 13 pounds, and his breed(s) are a true guess!!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We have an online application on our website, sparrowdogs.com. Requirements vary as per the individual dog's needs as far as time alone, children, other pets, fenced yard vs. leash walking and such. Our adoption donations can range from $99 for less adoptable/older dogs, and higher for puppies and other highly sought after dogs(which helps us take in needy often medically challenged dogs and cats.)
Our contract states we have the right to visit the dog, check up periodically as well as take the dog back if necessary. We get first right to the dog if adopter chooses not to keep him. We want all adopters to realize this is a serious commitment and want our dogs to go to safe, loving homes.

Go meet their pets

We periodically have adoption events, check out our website for more info! But-most of our adoption do occur at our foster home where we feel the dog or cat will be much more relaxed and the adoptive family will be able to get a better idea of the dog/cats temperament.

More about this rescue

All of our pets are in foster homes, from Sheridan to Chicago, IL We take in many special needs dogs, some physically, mentally or behaviorally challenged. Some of them have been abused or neglected, many are seniors, most just need some understanding and patience. A lot of them have never heard a vacuum before or even felt a kind pat on their heads. Fostering them prepares them for the life they so richly deserve when a kind person adopts from us. When you adopt a shelter dog, you are making a giant step in reducing euthanasia for all these great dogs looking for a home. It is not their fault, it is the fault of the human that previously was involved in their life. Thanks for checking out our website, maybe you will find the pal of your dreams.
