Leo joins us from Alabama where he and his momma were found as strays in a trailer park who were living under a trailer. New Hope Rescue took them in on September 26th and have not been able to find them homes. They asked us to please help with Leo to find him his forever home.
We believe Leo was born around the beginning of August. He is currently weighing 26 lbs and will most likely end up around 50 to 60 lbs. His momma only weighs 25 lbs, but apparently his dad was a big dog! As for breeds, we believe he is probably a shepherd and hound mix (this is only a guess).
Leo is such a sweet puppy! He didn't have great beginnings and needs to work on his confidence, but he is trying. He loves to snuggle and seems to enjoy the companionship of other dogs. His fosters believe he would like a family who had another young dog who he could bond and play with. Currently, we believe he may do best in a quieter home, however, we will see how he blossoms in the next couple of weeks. Even through his unsure beginnings, he is truly a happy puppy!!! He does warm up quickly and will be totally content to take a nap with his humans. He is crate trained, however, his house training is still in the works.
Leo is current on his distemper/parvo, bordatella and rabies vaccinations as well as his flea/tick/heartworm preventative. He is also microchipped. His adoption is $450.
If you are interested in this cutie, please submit an application on our website at https://worthytails.rescuegroups.org. For any questions, please send an email to jessie.wilson@comcast.net.

Worthy Tails is a non profit, all-volunteer animal foster and adoption organization. Our mission is to help animals that did not ask to be born, and are often subjected to inhumane conditions and treatment, to find loving homes. The members of our organization believe that any animal, no matter how large or small, young or old, beautiful or "only a face a mother can love" can offer unconditional love and companionship to the right person, couple, or family.
Worthy Tails is not an animal shelter. All animals live in our approved foster homes until permanent, indoor homes can be found.
