Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Adoption Fee: $275 + taxes
Location: Foster Home
Hi, I’m Carrot! My foster family says I’m shy, but I like to think of myself as an introvert who enjoys taking life at a slower pace. I’m looking for a calm, patient home without young kids or dogs—sudden movements can make me a little nervous.
When I’m feeling unsure, I like to retreat to a safe spot, usually under the bed. But don’t think I’m not curious! I’ll often follow you at a safe distance when you leave the room, quietly observing and building up my courage.
At night, my playful side comes out. My brother and I love to play tag while the house is quiet—it’s our favorite time to explore and have fun. I’m also very polite: I eat well and always use my litter box like the gentleman I am.
Though I may seem reserved, when my foster family holds and pets me, I realize how nice it feels. I’m learning to enjoy these moments of affection, but I’ll need extra time to feel fully comfortable in my forever home. My past has made me a little more cautious, but with patience and love, I know I’ll blossom into a loyal and sweet companion.
If you’re ready to offer a gentle and understanding home, I’d love to be your quiet, loving friend.

While we are a foster-based animal rescue and all of our dogs are in foster care, we do have a cat adoption space at our new Adoption & Wellness Center in Chaska. We also partner with local retail locations like PetSmart Richfield and Chuck & Don's Chanhassen to feature adoptable cats at their stores.

More about this rescue
Carver-Scott Humane Society was founded in 1989 with the mission of connecting animals in need with people who care. Our vision is a world where every animal is safe, cared for, and loved.
In 2017, we introduced a new, innovative rescue philosophy based on our Four Pillars: TNR, Serve Where You Save, FurKeeps, and Adopters Welcome. As of 2018, we adopt over 500 dogs and cats into the community every year, with a nationally reported Live Release Rate of 97%. We serve over 1,000 Minnesota pets and their families annually through our surrender prevention program, FurKeeps, aiming to keep pets out of the shelter system in the first place.
CSHS focuses on serving and saving Minnesota pets, and we do not transport animals in from out of state. We do our best to prevent surrender, which creates capacity for us to transfer most of our animals from high-volume impounds and shelters throughout the state. For the past three years, we have transferred more animals from Minneapolis Animal Care & Control than any other animal welfare organization.
