Sunflower`s favorite things are her people and toys! She`s smart and knows how to nudge the toy box lid open with her nose and find her favorite toys. She loves the soft, stuffed toys and finds comfort in carrying them around with her. Sunflower is very sweet and absolutely loves being with her people -- not so much other dogs. But with her people, she`ll cuddle all day. If you`re touching her or petting her, she`s a happy girl. In addition to being housebroken, Sunflower has great manners -- calm when you`re relaxing and playful when you`re ready to play. She knows several commands -- sit, fetch, lay down, and beg. She also walks nicely on leash, takes treats nicely and gives sweet kisses. Sunflower is estimated at 5 years old and weighs 51 lbs., is spayed, microchipped, heartworm tested and vaccinated. Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

We are here to help you find the one for you! When you come to the shelter please bring your photo ID.

2.
Take the Pet Home

Adopt and the pet is legally yours! Or choose to "slumber party" which is a trial adoption. You will have up to two weeks to decide.

3.
Pay Fee

The adoption fee is $60 for a dog and $35 for a cat. Those living within Citrus County, FL. will also purchase a $10 county license fee.

All adopters must be at least 18 years old. The adoption fee is $60 for a dog and $35 for a cat. Those living within Citrus County, FL. will also purchase a $10 county license fee. All pets are spayed/neutered, current on age and species appropriate vaccinations and flea and heartworm prevention. Kittens under 6 months of age are tested for Feline Leukemia (FeLV), and Cats over 6months of age are tested for FeLV and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). Dogs over 6 months of age are tested for heartworm disease. If the dog is heartworm positive, the treatment will be provided by our Veterinarian, at no cost to the adopter, sponsored by our generous community partner Citrus County Foundation for Animal Protection (CCFAP).
