My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bagel!

This big, loving boy is ready to find his forever home!

Bagel is looking for an active family who can give him lots exercise, training, and most importantly love! Bagel loves long runs, hikes, and seems to love every person he meets. He also loves kids!

Bagel does struggle with separation anxiety and can be loud when left alone. His ideal home would be one where he does not have to be left alone often. Bagel has been dog selective and can be a bit dog reactive on leash, however he has had successful dog friends as well.

Also keep in mind that Bagel is quite a large boy, he is around 100lbs, so a home with adequate space is crucial.

Thank you for your interest in adopting! Do you think you could be Bagel's person? Apply today!

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
