My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Zuzu is the cutest, sweetest little kitten with the prettiest, rare dilute tortoiseshell/tabby fur you ever saw!
Looking for a companion to follow you around the house, cuddle up on the couch for movies, and enthusiastically greet you after a long day at work? Zuzu is your gal! This darling little kitten wants nothing more than to be cuddled up to her people and get lots and lots of attention. She loves to sit on laps, play with wand toys, pounce on siblings, and most of all be close to you.

Zuzu is a brave little girl and could go to a home with other cats and dogs. A home with kids would be just fine, but she is pretty tiny yet at just 2 pounds so respectful, cat-savvy kiddos would be best! She loves her siblings and could be adopted with Ziggy, Zinnia, or Zoey, or could go to a home by herself.
Zuzu is ready to be the center of attention with a family who has lots of love to give! Could you be her forever home?

Zuzu is 10 weeks old and 2 lbs. All cats have had a vet exam, are up to date on vaccinations, have been given a dewormer and treated for fleas and ear mites if needed. If you are interested in meeting this cat please complete the adoption application on our website at https://safehandsrescue.org/adoption-process/ and then we can contact you about setting up a meeting.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We only adopt out animals to homes within 60 miles of the Twin Cities. Our adoption process begins with the return of our pre-adoption form, available on our website. After reviewing your application a meeting is scheduled between you and the pup, sometimes in the fosters home or at a neutral dog friendly place. If any resident dogs are in your home, it is recommended that the pups meet at this time. After the meeting a home visit is scheduled and if everything goes well with the visit the adoption is finalized at that time. A home visit by one of Safe Hands representatives is REQUIRED prior to finalizing any adoption and we must meet all members of the household where the pup will be living sometime during the adoption process.

Go meet their pets

Come on out and meet all of our great adoptable pups!! On weekends we have meetings at random locations. See our events page on our website or social media.

More about this rescue

Safe Hands is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization dedicated to saving lives and finding forever homes for stray, abandoned and surrendered dogs in high kill shelters. Of great importance to us is to reduce the stray population and need for healthy animal euthanasia through spay/neuter programs, education, and promotion of respect for the furry creatures that share our lives.

We are a small, no-kill, volunteer run organization. All of our dogs listed are in foster homes waiting to be adopted and because of this, we get to know the dogs' personalities very well and use this information to match them to an appropriate home. We do not have a physical shelter.

This rescue is not funded by public funds nor does it receive many donations so it is dependent on adoption fees to keep operating. We have a great need for foster homes. If you are interested in providing foster care, and live within an hour of the Twin Cities, please e-mail us
Donations ALWAYS needed are: dog crates, puppy pee pads, natures miracle (for pet stain removal), Nutrisource brand puppy and dog food, Lysol disinfecting wipes, paper towels, large clean towels, dog toys, leashes, collars and gas cards to help with our transports.
