Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Calling all German Shepherd lovers!
My name is Heidi, and I am just the softest, sweetest, little shep-shep that you`ll ever meet! I came to the Berkshire Humane Society when my owner decided that three dogs was a bit too much of a responsibility. I have been pretty fearful since my arrival, so I can be viewed by serious applicants by appointment only. I have not had any issues with aggression, but I do tend to shut down and shy away if I`m approached quickly by someone new. I have not been super food motivated since I`ve been at the shelter, but that may change in a home when I am more comfortable with my surroundings. I could potentially live with a cat, since I know that they have sharp claws hidden in their furry mittens, and I do my best to avoid them. I was very underconfident with my dog introduction, but with a dog that can show me the way, I`d be open to meeting them! I coexisted peacefully with the two Shepherds in my previous home, but was not one to initiate play. I require a home without kids due to my fear of loud noises and sudden movements, but come around to the kennel staff wonderfully in the couple of weeks I`ve been here. I am walking nicely on my harness, but tend to stray behind the person walking me since I did not have much training in leash walking in my previous home. I am incredibly intelligent and would love an owner who has time and patience to work with me and go on fun adventures regularly.
If you think I could be a good fit for you and your family, please call the kennel staff at (413) 447-7878 ext.126 to learn more about me and how to meet me!
