While All Paws on Deck has made every effort to provide accurate history and assessment of the dog, All Paws on Deck is not able to guarantee the dog's health, age, breed, medical status, behavior or disposition and makes no explicit or implicit guarantees in any of the above. This Dog is being VISITED “at a foster home” and the VISITOR assumes all responsibility for any and all incidents that might occur during his/hers interactions with such a dog. I understand that any illness and/or behavior that has been diagnosed and is being treated at the time of the VISIT was brought to my attention. 2. How to Safely Visit
I understand that I should approach the dog carefully and wait for him to come to me. I understand I should not offer my hand for the dog to smell nor pet the dog on the head until I feel it is safe to do so. I will observe the dog for signs of stress such as licking lips, yawning, growling or raised lips. I understand that if the dog does not present a relaxed body posture and a wagging tail, I will not try to touch him. I understand that if the dog shows any signs of being uncomfortable (growling, yawning, curling lips and/or looking with the corner of the eye), I will not try to pet him. I will only pet the dog if he shows a friendly posture and a wagging tail. I will wait until the dog approaches and smells me. Even after that, I understand that dogs are unpredictable and it's instincts can overcome any training. I understand that All Paws on Deck would never put me at risk if it were any concerns about the dog's behavior, but at the same time, coming from an unknown background, it is impossible to predict what kind of traumas the dog has experience and what can trigger a bite or aggressive reaction.
