Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home. Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion.
A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known.
Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.
Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes? Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email. We'll add you to our mailing list.
thanks

Date into Rescue:12/3/2024
Reason for being in rescue: Breeder release
Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC
Special Needs? Tulip is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 12/18/24 Tulip had a dental polishing.
Weight: 53 lbs
Height: 24 in
Spayed/Neutered: Yes
Adoption Fee: $599
Fence needed? No, but a fence is a great safety feature for any dog.
What kind of home would be best for me? Tulip’s ideal home is one where she will be loved, cherished, and given the time she needs to adjust to a new way of life. She needs an adopter who can be home most of the day—someone who can shower her with affection, help her learn basic commands, and establish a consistent routine. Although she’s making progress with us, Tulip still needs a special person to show her how to be a confident, happy dog.
A home with another dog would be ideal, as Tulip would learn how to interact and gain confidence from a well-adjusted canine companion. She has also never known life without another dog in it. A fenced yard would be a bonus, giving her a safe space to run and play. If you don’t have a fence, daily walks or trips to the dog park will help provide the physical and mental stimulation she needs.
W hat is my personality like? Tulip is ready to experience the love and care she's always deserved. She came to us as a breeder release and is still adjusting to life outside of a breeder environment. Tulip has never known the kind touch of a loving family, so she is looking for an adopter who can offer her the patience, time, and understanding she needs to flourish into the wonderful companion she’s meant to be.
Tulip is a sweet, gentle girl at heart, but she is understandably wary of the world around her. Every new experience is a first for her—whether it’s walking on grass, wearing a leash, or simply interacting with kind people. Although she’s cautious and sometimes shy, Tulip is beginning to trust and is showing signs of blossoming into the loving pet we know she can be.
After all that Tulip has been through, she deserves a loving home where she can feel safe, valued, and free to be herself. If you have the time, patience, and, most importantly, love to help Tulip become the happy, confident dog she’s meant to be, she may be the perfect addition to your family.
How do I act when I first meet new people? When meeting new people, Tulip can be a bit fearful. She’s still learning that not all humans are scary, and that they can be patient, loving, and gentle. Her adopter will need to continue her socialization process and reinforce her understanding that people are kind. With time, Tulip will grow into a loyal and affectionate companion, but she’ll need someone who is committed to working with her at her own pace.
Other tips and tidbits: Tulip was born on 4/11/2017.
House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.
To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application.
Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you.
Thank you for considering CPR.
