My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I’m a handsome Cocker Spaniel mix named Baxter. I am 3 years old, weigh 27.4 lbs, and I was seen dumped in an apartment building parking lot in San Antonio Texas, but it didn't faze me one bit. A nice lady took me in and I eventually wound up in a foster home with 4 Little Paws Rescue where I have made new friends and am having some fun. I’m fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped, and ready to get this show on the road and find a wonderful future.

I am a very sweet boy who makes friends easily with everyone. I’m happy and energetic, my tail always wagging and my favorite activity is playing with my doggy friends. I would be the happiest boy in town to end up with a similar-sized built-in playmate, but I also love attention from my people, and pets, and sharing kisses and I follow my foster mom all over the house while she works. I am well-behaved and housebroken, only having 1 potty accident when I first arrived at my foster home, and I don't ever bark. I walk well on a leash and I’m ok in a car but will want to sit on your lap if I’m not secured in the back, LOL! My future looks bright, and I am so looking forward to joining a wonderful family anywhere on the East Coast! Inquire about me today and bring me home!

* 4 Little Paws is based in CT. We adopt in many different states along the East Coast. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. If you are located outside the states we typically adopt to, we have options to get the dog of your dreams to your location.

Additional adoption info

Please DO NOT apply unless the entire family / household is on board with adopting one of our dogs. We must receive an application for you to move forward in the process. Thoughtful direct emails are welcome and will be answered. However, an application is still a necessary step. We want to make sure we find our dogs a perfect fit with a family so both the dog and the family are happy. We keep our dogs with fosters once we get them out of shelters for a little bit to learn and understand their personalities. Our relationship with families doesn't stop at adoption! We are always available for any follow up questions and are happy to be a resource as you and your new pet settle into a routine.
