Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We have a transport where we will be personally taking our dogs home leaving on 01/03/25 to NorCal and OR. Surrounding states will be added to our route if needed ☺️ We would love to add Cruz to our trip for the right home 💙
Meet our handsome, and very sweet boy Cruz! He is a havanese/poodle mix. He turns 2 on 8/23/25. He weighs a little over 10 1/2 lbs. Yes, he is full grown and at a very healthy weight. He is neutered, current on vaccines, microchipped, had a dental cleaning done, along with a thourel exam with our vet whom has cleared him to find a home all his own.
He is house trained, and will go outside throughout the day to use the restroom when needed. He is very good about holding his bladder, and will wait for you to ask him to go outside to potty.
He is crate trained, and currently sleeps in his crate at night, or to nap in during the day. He has no problems whatsoever being in a crate when needed, but would also love to be in your room in a bed aside yours, or in bed with you if that's where you prefer to have him 😊
He is leash trained, and loves his walks. His prior owner walked him every morning, and every evening when the weather was cooler and he always looked forward to those strolls around the neighborhood. Sadly, his prior owner lost mobility in her legs, and ended up wheelchair bound. She had her daughter take him in but she ended up realizing very quickly her lifestyle wasn't sufficient for his happiness so she reached out to us here to take him in and find him a great home again where he can enjoy the things he loves ❤️
He is wonderful with other dogs, and loves to play tug a war with them if not a good game of chase (he is fast 😂 and he knows the other dogs just can't keep up but he loves having them try 🙃.) He loves to play fetch too, and will on occasion being back the ball if he isn't throwing it around himself after retrieving it as he tends to amuse himself very well so it's always a joy to just sit back and watch him enjoy life, and the happiness he creates in it ❤️
He is not a barker, but will alert you of unfamiliar noises. He listens very well, and has learned commands like sit, stay, come, down, off, and up. He loves to be by your side, at your feet, or in your lap when given the chance to be. He is a total charmer, and one that truly enjoys the closeness a good snuggle brings both him and his person 🥰
He is good with men, women, and children alike. He is a bit shy when first meeting anyone he doesn't know, but once he warms up and knows you are there to be his friend them that's exactly what he will be in return to you for the rest of his life 😊 He does not need to be in a family setting, so if you are single, or a single couple, work from home, or retired then he will be happy just to spend his days with those that are happy to spend theirs with him ☺️
He is easy going, and easy to please. He does not require a high energy house hold whatsoever. He is naturally calm, and again will entertain himself (Happily at that, and will enjoy all the midday belly rubs he can by being the prince in your lives 💙.)
He is wonderful on road trips and is always ready for an adventure (even if it's just to the mailbox 😂) He loves his spa days with our groomer and always greets her with a wagging tail and kisses 💕
He is ready to have the home his little heart craves to have again with someone to love him the way he deserves to be loved ❤️❤️❤️❤️
His adoption fee is on our website under his adoption listing at https://www.breadoflifek9refuge.org/post/_cruz
It covers his neuter, vaccines, microchip/registration, dental cleaning, additional anesthesia time/iv fluids, antibiotic shot given to aid in both his neuter and dental, and his overall exam with our vet which went perfect. Aside from a routine dental cleaning and polish his teeth were in great health, along with his ears that were also examined and cleared.
As always his adoption fee also goes back into the care he has received from us since he has been with us, his grooming costs, and training that we have personally done with him 😊
