My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dog: Beatrice

Age:1-2

Weight: 100lbs

Location: Bucks County

Nicknames: Bea

Good with other dogs?:
Beatrice gets along with our young, submissive American Bulldog, but has been a bit bossy about sharing toys or bones. She has been able to share beds, and spaces without an issue.
She is a bit obnoxious when seeing other dogs while on walks, but if she meets them, and they are calm, it's not an issue. She has been going on our pack walks and doing well. She does very well in dog play groups and pack walks!

Good with cats? unknown, will not be adopted to a home with a cat

Good with children? unknown, will not be adopted to a home with kids under 10

Activity Preference: Low maintenance overall but needs quality outside time.

IQ: Smart

Beatrice's favorite things: Beatrice is so sweet! She loves spending time with her people while cuddling on the couch. She Loves belly rubs, chewing bones, and playing with toys. She will throw her toys in the air and pounce on them to play.

Beatrice is good at: meeting people, behaving in the house, going for car rides, making me feel safe, cuddling, playing

Ideal home: someone at home most of the day, a fenced yard

Training Needs: leash training, working on obedience training

Health issues:

Meet Beatrice

Beatrice is a beautiful, big mastiff girl. She will do best in a home with people who are experienced in handling a very large, strong, powerful and a bit stubborn dog. She is BIG! She would do best with a family who works from home or will not leave her for long periods of time.  She is so sweet with every person she meets. She has not issues with her foster parents taking toys or food away from her.
She was a stray taken to ACCT in philly and has been adjusting to life in a foster home with a yard and foster sibling. She is BIG! She does really well going to the bathroom outside. She does not love the crate, we have been slowly getting her used to a special, heavy duty crate. She would however, prefer to be left out of the crate if possible

To be considered for adoption, you must apply using our free, online application. Our dogs are fostered in our volunteers' homes, not in a central shelter/location. Only approved applicants are put into contact with the foster family to setup a meeting with the foster dog. Visit our Adoption Policies web page for more information and a link to our application: http://americanbulldogrescue.org/adoption-policies/.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

To adopt one of our love-a-bull dogs, you must submit an application on our website at www.americanbulldogrescue.org. Applications must meet minimum requirements (policies are listed our site). Applicants have their vet and personal references checked . The next step is a home visit by one of our volunteers. Finally, the applicant will be put in touch with the foster family to arrange to meet the dog! If a happy match is made, the applicants sign an adoption contract and provide an adoption donation. The donation is usually $400.

Go meet their pets

Adoption events will be posted on our Facebook page. Our foster dogs live in homes with our volunteers. We do not have a facility where interested people can visit the dogs. If you are interested in meeting any of our dogs, please submit an adoption application available on our website.
