Oscar was found in a gym bag dumped outside a church and was brought to the local county animal services. He was in rough shape - underweight, flea ridden, thin fur, missing most of his teeth and after bloodwork was done, he was found to be diabetic. He came to us after animal services reached out for rescue help since they don't have the capacity to treat diabetic cats.
Oscar is in a foster home and is doing much better, he's gained weight and his coat has grown in a lot. He still has active diabetes which means he needs insulin injections every 12 hours and needs to eat canned food exclusively. He also needs to have his blood glucose monitored routinely which can be done at home, but the monitoring should include communication with a veterinarian.
He's a loving, friendly, playful kitty. He's a bit of a goofball. He's very active and can be quite talkative especially when it's near feeding time. Oscar is good with polite dogs, but he does not like other cats, so he needs to be your only cat.
