My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What my friends at ACC say about me:

I am finding the shelter a bit overwhelming. Outside one-on-one I am a great big cuddle bug.

I am looking for a home with a patient person.

Whiskers tolerates attention and petting but appears fearful or stressed in the shelter. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.

A volunteer writes: Whiskers must know that people walk by her condo and see only a den, but she's heartbreakingly eager for a chance. Whiskers doesn't quite know how to put herself out there but cherishes each opportunity she's given. My heart went out to her as I watched her excitedly circle her den and contentedly purr all because I sat down to share a few moments. Since coming to us in November, Whiskers has preferred her den to the expansiveness of the condo, so is in need of someone to offer her a hand first. I gave her mine and she rested her head, joyfully nuzzling and rubbing her cheeks on the sides of her den to emphasize her happiness. We played pipe cleaner feather and she puffed her cheeks and widened her eyes to catch it as best she could. Anyway, next time you're at the Queens Care Center, please take an extra moment or two to peek inside this den to see the lovely cat inside.
