Meet Oreo! This sweet 2-year-old boy came to our shelter as a stray, but he’s ready to find his forever home. Oreo is an affectionate pup who loves nothing more than a good petting session. He will even ignore toys if it means he can snuggle up with a human! Oreo has a gentle, loving nature, and he will happily sit for treats, showing off his "sit" command. And while he came to us in rough shape, he's made a fantastic recovery and is on his way to being the perfect, healthy dog he's meant to be.
While Oreo gets along well with people, he would do best in a home without cats due to his prey drive. We aren't sure how he feels about other dogs, so we would recommend a meet-and-greet with any future canine companions. If you’re looking for a cuddly companion who enjoys belly rubs and treats, Oreo could be the perfect match for you. Come meet this sweet boy today!

Additional adoption info
We invite you to visit the shelter locations and meet the animals and the adoption team!
Our adoption process is aimed at matching you, your family and your current pets with our animals for adoption. An adoption counselor will introduce you to our animals in a private meeting room. We will share information about the animal's medical and behavioral needs as well as their history.
When you find the right pet for you and your family, the adoption counselor will assist you in completing the proper paperwork. This process includes signing an adoption contract, reviewing medical history and providing proper pet care information.
What you will need in order to adopt:
A valid photo ID with your current address.
We recommend all members of the household meeting the animal before adopting.
If you are interested in adopting a dog and have other dog(s) living in your household, it is recommended that all dogs meet each other at the shelter.
Certain animals require additional steps or requirements.
Adoption fee is accepted in cash or credit/debit card. Checks, American Express, Discover, Care Credit are not accepted as payment.
PLEASE NOTE: We are not able to place a hold or accept a deposit for animals that are not available for adoption, that you have not done a formal meet and greet with, or over the phone. Adoptions are approved for the first qualified home. Adoption is not guaranteed and is at the discretion of Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh.
