Piper is a 10 year old female GSD that needs to be rehomed due to not being compatible any longer with older dog in the household. Her owner, who is 80, can no longer provide the exercise and care that she needs.
She has been in the same household since she was a puppy. Needs to be only dog in home. Does get stressed when going to the vet. Active dog who is used to having large space to run, needs fence. Rings a bell beside the door when she wants to go outside. Has never been crated inside. Has been trained with a containment system/collar outside. UTD on vaccines, Heartworm negative. Receives heart worm yearly shot and is on flea/tick preventative.
She is in good health but her owner, who is 80 years old, can no longer provide the exercise that she needs.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS NOT A GSRA DOG. ONLY CONTACT THIS INDIVIDUAL ABOUT THIS DOG. THE CONTACT HAS NO AFFILIATION WITH GSRA AND GSRA CANNOT ANSWER QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS DOG.

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

Once approved, we encourage applicants to visit adoption events to meet potential dogs that could be a match.
Before you fill out the application:
1). We do not adopt to individuals living outside of North Carolina, South Carolina, or Virginia.
2). If the only dog you are interested in has a (CL) after their name, this is a courtesy listing and we do not handle the adoptions of courtesy listings, please contact the person directly.

More about this rescue

Thank you for considering adopting a GSRA dog. We love that you are exploring rescuing a GSD. We firmly believe that the adoption of a dog is not one to be taken lightly. Because of this belief, our adoption process is what some would described as lengthy and can be emotional. If you are looking to take a dog home "tomorrow", unfortunately our organization is not for you.
