My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Charley B is just a super chill sweet cat.

Once you see Charley B beg for food it's almost impossible not to love him. He puts his paws together and makes a pleading motion, especially when he thinks he's getting wet food. He has a few obsessions including cardboard boxes (which are meant for hiding, napping, and shredding), laser pointers, and shoes which he needs to smell every time you go outside.

He loves to lounge around, watch the birds, play with the laser and just relax. He also likes to take your place on the couch and wait for you to return. He really likes deep pets several times a day but is not needy. He's a very easy going pet.

Charley is a softy and scared of loud noises. You will find him hiding behind the toilet when it thunders out or he goes into his cardboard box when he hears the lawn mower.

Charley would be good as a solo pet or with other pets as long as they don't chase him. He gets too scared being chased as he clearly had some trauma and we know he got stuck in a tree outside and spent at least one night up there and had to be rescued by the lift. He seemed pretty scared of the dark when he first came into foster care and would get agitated as the sun went down; but with time in the foster home that has gone away and he feels safe again.

Charley is a character who likes to investigate everything, likes to say hello to guests yet scared of many things. He keeps things interesting and would make a great pet for people looking for a cat that is a bit of a character. For more information or to apply to adopt, please go to: https://www.purrpartners.org/adopt/

More about this rescue

Purr Partners Feline Rescue is a 501(c)(3), no-kill, foster-based, all-volunteer organization dedicated to saving the lives of cats and kittens in Central North Carolina — incorporated in 2009 by two friends, four cats, and no budget. These two women realized the need for a "cat only" rescue that worked with rural shelters — where cats routinely lose their lives. Purr Partners was founded to save the lives of those most in jeopardy with little hope of survival. High-kill rural shelters became the focus for Purr Partners, and that is still true today. From those humble beginnings, the rescue has grown to over a hundred active volunteers and a budget of approximately $175,000. At any given time there are between 100 and 150 cats and kittens in foster care. We have saved the lives of over 3500 cats and are still growing!
