My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hiya! My name is Lex (the orange one) and this is my sister, Lana - the sweetest, gentlest, squeakiest pair of teenage kittens you will ever meet! Foster mom says I am a teddy bear - maybe because I love to climb into her lap and snuggle.
Lana and I have been together since we were born at our foster home! We were adopted together as small kittens, but our people did something called divorce and so even though they love us very much, we have to find a new home.
Our personalities are pretty similar - we both have little squeaky meows to greet you with as we run to you for affection. We both love hanging out on high shelves to keep an eye on things. And, probably the cutest thing - and my foster moms favorite thing - is that we both flop onto our backs a LOT! We play on our backs, sleep on our backs, and will always take time for a good belly rub. Foster mom has lots and lots of photos of us on our backs being adorable.
We have our differences, too - I am more outgoing, while Lana is shyer at first. I will warm up for pets quickly while she hangs back a little, but it does not take long for her to give in for loves. I am very playful and my favorite is chasing the dangling worm on a string while Lana prefers to roll around of the floor with catnip toys and mice.
Together, we make the perfect pair - will you come meet us? We promise endless snuggles and cuteness! If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at https://caws.org/adoption-applicationDecember 29, 2024, 6:01 am

Additional adoption info

Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.

Go meet their pets

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.
