A Little Bit About Us

Bingo and Boxer are a bonded pair of sweet, gentle guys. When they came to the shelter, they were as shy as could be, but now that they have acclimated, we've seen their loving and affectionate side. They come out of their hidey beds to rub on legs, get petting and cheek scratches, and Bingo has even tested out some laps. Boxer likes to play wand toy and Bingo has started to show an interest in playing, too. Both guys are happy to hang out with their people, but don't mind some time on their own. In their previous home, they went in and out at will and lived with a cat-friendly dog. Their guardian described them as 'loving cats.' Boxer and Bingo are looking for a home on the quieter side. Meet them with some soft talk, a slow approach, and some Greenies treats, and these gentlemen will show you how sweet they truly are!

We are a group of people dedicated to rescuing dogs from crisis situations, some of which include euthanasia by animal shelters, neglect and other forms of abuse, or "free to a good home" ads, which result in dogs being bounced from one home to another, or being acquired by animal brokers ("bunchers") and sold to research laboratories where they are used for testing then discarded ("cruelty industries").

NBCR&P works primarily with 5 herding breeds, and herding breed mixes. On occasion, NBCR&P also rescues and places other breeds. We foster our dogs in a home environment, rather than a kennel, if at all possible. We take pride in our promise that at any time and for any reason in the dog's life, if the need arises, he or she has a safe place with us ("return to rescue" policy).
