My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Shelter visiting hours are 12 pm to 4 pm - Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays

Please fill out an adoption application at mamcorescue.org or attend one of our Saturday adoption event.

Events are held each Saturday from 12 pm to 5 pm at our office: 2721 W Oxford Ave., Suite 6 Englewood, CO 80110

*In order to protect our puppies, we do not allow puppies to attend open events until they have a minimum of two vaccinations. Puppies who are available, but not listed on our weekly Facebook event, are considered "deposit only" puppies. These puppies will only attend the event IF they are reserved through a deposit. You can check the list of puppies attending the open event by checking the event: https://www.facebook.com/MAMCORescue

At MAMCO we understand that in order to continue rescuing moms and babies, we must stretch our finances as far as we are able. For this reason we use variable adoption pricing. By assigning higher adoption fees to high demand moms and puppies, we are able to rescue more families in need. The money raised through these adoptions acts as a benefactor to moms and puppies in our care who require expensive veterinary treatments, have behavioral issues, or need more time to find a home. We often reduce the adoption fees on these harder-to-place moms and puppies to help them find forever families. Adoption fees vary. Applications can be filled out at mamcorescue.org.

Unless otherwise stated, all of our dogs are mixed breeds. We never guarantee the size, breed, or temperment of any of our puppies.

More about this rescue

We are a 501c3 non-profit rescue dedicated to saving pregnant and nursing dogs from high kill shelters all over the country. We are entirely foster based and do not keep dogs at our central location.

Our mission evolved from the desire to ensure that all mother dogs got the chance to find their forever families. Many mother dogs are euthanized in shelters because they are pregnant, nursing, or they are killed once their puppies have been rescued or adopted. At MAMCO we feel that moms matter and for that reason we give them a safe haven where they can raise their puppies, get the training and behavioral support they need, and also receive important veterinary care. Most moms and their litters are with us for two months before adoption. This makes us a very unique rescue, because of the costs and time associated with each litter of puppies.

In addition to our regular mission, we also sponsor several spay and neuter programs in rural areas to help keep dogs with their owners. Throughout our travels we have learned that many dogs are not spayed because of the high cost of vet care in rural areas. People love their dogs, but genuinely cannot afford to spay/neuter. With these programs we spay the mother dogs and allow them to stay with their owners. We then organize the safe transfer and adoption of their litters of puppies. In this way we ensure that all dogs are spayed/neutered to prevent further contributions to the pet overpopulation problem.
