The Hanukkah puppies are a litter of 8 week old Schipperke x Italian Greyhound mixes ready to say “toy vey” and bounce into their forever homes! These babies arrived at our rescue at only 4 weeks old with Mama Hanukkah. They were raised in an amazing foster home where they got all the love in the world. Now that they’re all grown up, they’re ready to find forever homes of their own! This litter is 2 boys and 2 girls. We expect them to stay under 12 pounds when fully grown, as Mama is a petite 5.5 pound dog. Come light the Paw-norah with a Hanukkah puppy this holiday season!

Dreidel (M): Dreidel is a goofy, confident and lovable puppy who will spin around during playtime for hours! Dreidel is the biggest pup of the bunch and he has the personality to

match! His goofy antics cause nonstop laughter in his foster home as he races after his toys before crashing into one of his siblings and tumbling over his paws. He is a true gentle giant (well a giant who weighs less than 4 pounds). This boy always has a smile on his face and a wag in his tail. Once he’s gotten all his energy out, he’s ready to snooze, ideally on your lap as you rub his belly. Dreidel knows just how handsome he is and he charms everyone he meets, regardless of how they feel about dogs. He’s basically the best canine ambassador ever if you ask us! Come over and spin this adorable little top round and round for a lifetime of playtime and adventure! Adopt Mr. Dreidel and prepare for nonstop fun!

Gelt (M): Gelt is an outgoing, playful, and joyus puppy ready to melt your heart into a puddle of gold! He is a bundle of joy who has a soft spot for plush toys and humans alike. Gelt loves wrestling with his siblings, racing around the pen and the backyard as he shows off his zoomies. He is known to drag around a toy larger than his entire body with ease! Once he’s gotten his energy out however, he is ready for some serious cuddles! He paws up to you with his tail wagging a mile a minute as he melts your heart with his puppy dog eyes and his loving nature. Gelt would be such a sweet friend for a resident dog but he would also be just fine flying solo as well! He’s adaptable and go-with-the-flow in a way we don’t often see in puppies. It just makes him even more irresistible than his adorable face already is if you ask us! Come win some Gelt today!

Latke (F): Latke is a playful, affectionate, and cuddly little lady who serves up the best combination of adorable energy. You won’t need a side of applesauce or sour cream with this Latke, she’s perfect just the way she is! Her foster mom describes her as a “cuddly shadow”, which says all you need to know… but here’s some more! Latke is the most people-oriented of the litter, constantly seeking snuggles and attention. She is known to skip playtime in favor of a warm lap covered by a knitted blanket. Latke loves giving little puppy kisses and she will shower you in all the affection in her little body. Her gorgeous tricolor coat makes her stick out in a crowd and she wins over everyone she meets with a flutter of her lashes and a paw over your heart. Latke is playful yet sweet, the perfect match for anyone seeking a cuddly new best friend.

Menorah (F): Menorah is a curious, playful, and calm little princess ready to light up your home forever! Menorah leads the pack on the daily activities, from toy time to cuddle piles during naps. She is easygoing and happy to amuse herself when her siblings are being a little too chaotic, but she keeps everyone in line. She does love her cuddles and she is always down for some belly rubs or a long afternoon nap. Menorah has a striking coat and she’s always the puppy that people comment on hours after meeting the litter. She has that special spark in her that will change your world from the second you hold her in your arms and kiss her soft little head. Menorah will be a perfect addition for someone looking for a new pal who’s down for anything you want to plan. Just give her a lifetime of bellyrubs and cookies and she will follow you to the ends of the Earth! Light our Menorah and let her fill your household with light and love this holiday season!

The Hanukkah puppies wake up at 7 AM and enjoy their breakfast of kibble and chicken, followed by an energetic play session where they wrestle, explore, and pounce on their pile of toys. After burning off their morning energy, they settle down for a midday nap to recharge before lunch. They repeat this cycle for the rest of the day until they are ready for evening cuddle time where they get belly rubs and give puppy kisses. They get some treats and hugs before they head off to bed in their pen.

The Hanukkah puppies have been well socialized with dogs of all ages and sizes. They love meeting new people and are always ready for a snuggle or a belly rub. Interested homes should be prepared to discuss plans for training and socialization. Ready to celebrate the holiday of lights with a furry friend? Adopt a Hanukkah puppy!

The Hanukkah puppies are only an option for homes who have owned a dog in the last 5 years. Kids should be over the age of 7.

More about this rescue

We are passionate folks who love dogs and love people! We strive to make the most appropriate match between human and canine. Because our dogs live in foster homes we know about their temperament and personality and therefore can help families and individuals decide if the dog is a good match or not. We are excited to help people find the right pooch for them and look forward to meeting great folks and welcoming them into the DPS Family.
