My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Sasha was brought in by her previous owner on December 12, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Sasha #934818 and Buddy #934819 are inseparable besties who promise to keep your home full of love, laughter, and the occasional burst of zoomies. They're looking for a calm, child- and dog-free home where they can relax, play, and safely observe the world from their window perch. These two start off a little shy, but once they warm up, you'll see their true personalities shine! Sasha is the adventurous foodie of the duo. Keep an eye on your coffee cups-she seems to think any liquid is fair game for a taste test! Sasha also has a "live fast, eat fast" philosophy, so a slow feeder is her dinner-time must-have to avoid any post-meal regrets. Buddy, on the other hand, is the chill but occasionally spicy member of the team. He doesn't mind being brushed, but has a strict "no handling" policy with most people. Respect his boundaries, and you'll have a loyal, floofy friend for life. Both Sasha and Buddy have a tendency to become overstimulated, so knowing feline body language and taking breaks while petting them is a must. When they're not lounging like royalty or whispering secrets to each other, they transform into midnight sprinters, tearing through the house and scaling their cat tree like it's Mount Everest. Their favorite pastime? Battling wand toys and snake-shaped treasures with the ferocity of true hunters. If you've got the time to earn their trust, the patience to cater to their quirks, and the ability to guard your beverages, Sasha and Buddy are ready to bring joy and a dash of chaos to your life. Don't forget to bring a couple of secure cat carriers!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
