My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Raphael!

Raphael is a very sweet, gentle puppy. He is going to be a big boy when he grows up, so he is looking for a home with lots of space to roam and play. He has already started working on his manners and house training and is doing a great job, but like all puppies, he will need a guardian that is patient with continuing puppy training. Puppyhood is precious and also a lot of work, so Raphael is looking for someone ready for the commitment. Raphael's breed is a mixture of active, working dogs, so he will need a lifetime of exercise and stimulation in his future.

Raphael is doing very well with his socialization and would be great in a home with other friendly dogs or children. He has been previously in a foster home with young children and gets along with them well.

Due to the high volume of applications we receive for puppies, we will be prioritizing in-person applicants. For a chance to meet and adopt Raphael, please come to the West Vancouver BCSPCA Tues-Sun from 12pm-3pm daily for viewing.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
