Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Hi there. My name is Lara. I am one of the sweetest ladies you will ever meet. Especially for someone with such a sad story. You see, I used to live far far away in a different province where I had a TON of space to roam and run and play. I had a great pet parent who loved me so much but unfortunately they passed away. When a family member brought me to Ontario, I was very sad and depressed without my person. I longed for them and got very anxious in this new place. You see, I have something called Separation Anxiety.
Now this may sound scary or bad to some BUT since coming here, I have been put on some medication to help me transition into a new home. They don`t know if I`ve had this my entire life or if this is a newer behaviour due to losing my person and being brought to an unfamiliar place but either way I will need someone who is home most if not all of the time. Someone who is willing to help me work on this, willing to keep me on medications either until I settle in or possibly forever.
WOW. I know that is A LOT to unpack but let me tell you why I am worth it.... Well first of all, I am just a lovely lady. I am a big girl who LOVES to snuggle. I am known to be great with children, cats (at least on the farm I was good with cats) AND respectful dogs. I may take a little extra time to warm up to men and dogs but I do come around I promise. I am still on the younger side of adulthood so I love to play, I love to go for walks AND I`m pretty good on leash too! I LOVE car rides and I`m great in the car so I would be the perfect companion to go on lots of fun trips with!
I am an absolutely all around wonderful lady! I just happen to have this pesky separation anxiety thing. I really hope that this does not deter the right home from adopting me.
I am considered a special paws because I will need medications to help with my separation anxiety, which means that my adoption fee is up to you. You will need to work with your own veterinarian, once I am adopted, to see what the best treatment plan is for Separation anxiety.
