Papi is a 6-month-old large breed puppy with striking white fur and beautiful grey spots, along with his gorgeous grey eyes that will melt your heart. While we’re not exactly sure of his breed—he may have some Great Dane or American Bulldog in him—what we do know for sure is that he’s an absolute gem.
When Papi first arrived with us, he was a little shy and unsure of the world. But it didn’t take long for him to come out of his shell, and now he’s the sweetest, most loving boy around. Papi absolutely adores people and gets along with everyone he meets! He’s made huge progress in his foster home, learning to walk confidently on a leash (something he was once scared of) and becoming crate trained. While his potty training is still a work in progress, he’s doing great with minimal accidents.
Papi currently lives with two other dogs and cats, and he`s absolutely thriving in a social environment. He has a best friend here at the shelter named Arnold, and the two of them love to run and play together. While Papi enjoys his playtime, he also knows how to wind down and snuggle up on the couch for some quality downtime. He’s calm, well-mannered, and incredibly easy-going.
At his grooming appointments, Papi is a total pro—just sitting back and relaxing without any fuss. If you’re looking for a well-rounded, handsome, and affectionate giant pup to add to your family, Papi might just be the perfect fit!

If you would like to meet Papi, please submit an application for him on our website https://www.friendsofmichigan.org/adoptable-dogs. Since he is a large breed puppy it is best to delay his neuter until he is closer to his full size. This will help ensure proper bone structure and joint development. More details on this can be discussed during the meet and greet. Papi does have a vet appoint on Monday the 23rd of this month to receive his microchip, vaccinations, and heartworm test. He has been on monthly flea and tick prevention. His adoption fee is $300, which helps cover the cost of the medical care he has and will receive.

We are a nonprofit, no-kill animal shelter comprised mostly of volunteers. We take in cats and dogs from local shelters and the public who can no longer care for their pets. Each of the volunteers at FMAR has a tremendous amount of love for animals and simply wants to do what they can to ensure that as many animals as possible find a forever home. Until then, each animal has a home at FMAR indefinitely.
