My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

#A5663913 Meet Joanie , a gorgeous 7-year-old pitbull with a stunning tawny and white coat that perfectly complements her beautiful personality! This darling older lady might be 7, but she certainly doesn't act her age—she’s got plenty of life, energy, and personality left to share, with so much more time to enjoy together. Joanie is super sweet, always alert and curious, and loves meeting new people to give and receive affection. She has a lovely prancing walk and a medium energy level, striking the perfect balance between cuddles at home and fun adventures outside. Joanie gets along great with other dogs, showing curiosity and playfulness, so she could be an excellent pet sibling! She’s also good on the leash, shows clear signs of potty training, and already knows basic commands. If you’re looking for a smart, laidback, and loving companion who has a lifetime of joy to share, Joanie is just  the one for you!

  • 7 year old grey and white pitbull

  • 43 pound spayed female

  • Up to date on all shots and preventatives, so ready to go home with you today! However, Joanie picked up a little doggy cold at the shelter, which is already being treated. Just to be safe, she will need to be adopted on a health waiver - adopter to follow up with own vet for further diagnostics and potential treatment, if needed

  • Came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on 11/15/24 as a stray

  • gorgeous tawny and white coat

  • truly beautiful inside and out

  •  such a darling old lady, who acts younger than her age - plenty of life and personality left in her, and plenty of time left to spend together!

  •  super sweet personality

  •  alert and curious, always ready to meet new people, and to give and receive affection

  •  lovely, cute little prancing walk

  • medium energy level - perfect for snuggles at home and adventures outside

  •  great with other dogs - curious and playful - so could make a wonderful pet sibling!

  • good on leash and shows clear signs of potty training, as well as knowledge of basic commands

More about this rescue

United Hope for Animals is a 501c3 non-profit organization committed to creating a world where our relationship with animals is guided by compassion and responsibility. We actively work toward bringing an end to the needless suffering of companion animals through community-based programs here at home and across the border.

The United States euthanizes more than one million dogs and cats each year. Through our Shelter Support Program, we work in partnership with local shelters to reduce this number by raising public awareness about shelter adoption and facilitating rescue and adoption of sheltered animals. In the process, we bring dignity and hope to the many lives that would otherwise pass anonymously through the animal control system.
