My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Online Adoption Application

I am that guy, you know the one that just steals your heart even though he may have a few imperfections.  I am approximately 5 years old and the vet listed my breed as a Cairn Terrier.  I currently weigh 14 lbs.   My life was not always easy, but that changed the minute I was rescued and placed with my foster family.  I was so scared and it took me a few days to decompress and learn to trust, but I am one happy guy now.   The neglect I had endured resulted in me losing an eye, but it does not slow me down.  I am like most other dogs, I love to play, I love to curl up with my human and I am very loyal, but I still have some anxiety around little people.  My ideal home would be one that does not have young children and someone that is home with me a lot.  I ride in the car with no problem and I get along with other animals. I will walk on a leash, however I need someone that will work with me on building my confidence so I am not afraid.  I am not completely housebroken but I am doing very well with going outside.  If you want further information on me, go to Animaladvocatesfl.org and put in an application to adopt.  I promise you will fall in love.

More about this rescue

About
Animal Advocates is a ffoster based rescue whose purpose is to secure animals from local high kill shelters, euthanasia lists, as well as intervening when an individual is no longer able to care for animals in their possession.

Mission
To save those we can, when we can, as often as we can...one paw, one hand, one voice.

Company Overview
We have no "kenneled" facility that houses our animals. We have dedicated fosters who incorporate these animals into their families. This dynamic allows us to fully evaluate the animals in a variety if settings to ready them for their forever homes.

Description
We educate the public regarding the importance of spay, neuter programs and provide low cost alternatives to basic veterinary care. Behavioral and nutritional information is also addressed...we always encourage to adopt..not shop. When possible we assist families by providing information that with effort will allow them to keep these gentle souls and retain their pets.

We have foster homes in Seminole, Orange, Volusia, Brevard, Lake and Osceola counties.

General Information
All of the animals available for adoption have been spayed/neutered and micro chipped, all have current vaccines including rabies (if old enough). They are maintained on both flea had heart worm preventative. Any medical as well as behavioral issues have been addressed and are fully disclosed before the time of adoption.
