Gus is currently part of the Cattitude Cat program, which means his adoption fee is by donation. He would do best in a loving household where he can flourish on his own terms.
EHS volunteer comment: "Gus has been very reserved and skittish in the shelter. I've been visiting him on a regular basis and he seems to slowly be warming up. He may give a soft hiss and hide when I first enter but that is happening less frequently. I've discovered that Gus loves Lickable treats. He will come lick the treat from the tube or off my finger. While he prefers to stay perched in a safe spot, Gus will let me pet him as long as I approach slowly. He has occasionally flopped on his side and rolled to his back and let me scratch his chest and chin area too. Gus recently played with a wand toy while I was there and pounced and showed a bit of playful nature. While Gus may take a while to settle into a new home, I think he will ultimately warm up given enough time to gain confidence in new surroundings and with a patient adopter."
