Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Dolly is quite the gal, coming into our Rescue as a stray and melting the hearts of all who meet her. She was seen for weeks on and off roaming around stores and homes when finally, a wonderful, caring lady took Dolly to one of our Vet hospital partners where she has been pampered, loved on and treated like a queen but this beautiful girl needs to be home for Christmas, so we are pulling out all stops to get her into a family very soon.
Her very favorite thing in life is belly rubs, and she could lay on her back for hours just enjoying the fun, When not getting those wonderful loving touches, she is ready to move, run and play. We believe she is a combination of a Great Pyrenees (yes, she does have double dew claws) and Maremma Sheepdog because of her smaller size, weighing only 55 lbs. She has an amazingly gorgeous coat but sadly some of it had to be trimmed because she was so covered with fleas and sandburs when found. Her personality is of one fun loving pup who is ready to run and play to burn off that energy. She would also be a good running companion in the cooler weather, being ready at a moment's notice. She will need a large, fenced yard or small farm to give her plenty of room or an avid runner who will keep her in motion to burn off that herding dog energy.
Dolly is just two years old, spayed, current on all vaccinations, chipped but sadly she will need to go through heartworm treatment funded by GREAT Rescue. Her ideal home must have a large escape proof fenced yard or area, no children under 8, someone who is willing and capable of giving her lots of exercise and activity during the day and some major belly rubs at night. This is one special girl who so deserves a loving family who will give her the chance to be the great dog that she is.
