Murphy is blind (microphthalmia, which is a rare condition in cats that causes one or both eyes to be abnormally small due to a failure of the eye to fully develop) and was born that way. He was dumped in a local neighborhood and entered into a community where he wandered into someone’s backyard and fell into their pool. Thankfully, they saw it happen and were able to save him. The person who saved him happened to have been alerted by others in her neighborhood about seeing the blind cat get dumped. Cat ladies unite!! Murphy ended up in the Garland shelter and that’s where NTCR saw him. We jumped in to pull him from the shelter and get him into a foster home. Murphy is incredibly sweet and affectionate. He’s very smart! He has excellent litter box manners – you just have to “show” him where it is. Blind cats are incredible in their ability to adapt. If you’re interested in meeting or adopting Murphy, please fill out a no-obligation application on NTCR’s website. His adoption fee is $150.
Please contact NTCR AT 214.454.9395 should you have any concerns or questions.
Please note: We appreciate all interest in our cats and kittens, but we are an all volunteer organization. Please be patient with regard to a call back. Should you need to surrender the cat you adopted from NTCR, please email us at surrenderNTCRcat@northtexascatrescue.com.
