Meet Piper
Sweet Piper is a loving 3-year-old 55 pound girl who is ready to find her forever home. Rescued after being dumped at a dog park in a neglected state, Piper has overcome a rough start and blossomed into a wonderful companion.
She has completed basic obedience training and comes with one free training session with a trainer at K9 PhD. Piper is a very smart girl and knows sit, stay, lay down, leave it, and has excellent recall. She’s also potty trained and when it comes to feeding, she knows to sit and stay while you place down the bowl until released.
Piper is shy at first but warms up quickly to new people inside a home, though remains shy out in public. That is changing now that she is getting more socialization. She is enjoying meeting people and their dogs.
She thrives on snuggling on the couch and enjoys playtime in the backyard along long hikes. Piper has also proven to be a fantastic road dog, recently completing a cross country trip in an RV she loved exploring new trails. Piper can be nippy when scared and cornered which is why she will need anxiety medicine when visiting the vet. She would do best in a calm, patient home without cats or small children.
Piper is a mix breed girl but has the personality of an Australian shepherd or cattle dog. She is spayed, healthy, up to date on all shots and ready to bring so much joy to her forever home. If you are looking for a loyal companion who’s ready to cuddle and make you smile, Piper is your girl.

To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself.
