Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Obsidian's life so far has been hard. Living alongside many other cats in an overcrowded home, he missed out on the opportunity to develop the social skills most cats build in early kittenhood, and now finds change and novelty overwhelming.
Obsidian is seeking a generous family content to give him the time and space he needs to find comfort in a new place and a new routine, and will appreciate the friendship he can offer, even if it's only flirtatious blinks from across the room and a shadow at the foot of the bed in the middle of the night and not a demonstrative cuddle session on your lap.
Where Obsidian shines is his ability to be companionable with other cats! In the shelter Jasper has taken comfort in the company of other cats from his home, and joining a family with a welcoming, outgoing cat friend may be one of the most successful strategies to help him feel comfortable making connections with new people.
Obsidian has not had exposure to dogs or children and, for his comfort, we suggest this is not the best time for him to be asked to tackle those new experiences.
By adopting Obsidian, you'll be giving a home to a cat that truly needs someone-you-to be her advocate and unconditional bestie, meeting him where he is. Thank you for considering giving him that chance. Primary Color: Grey Tabby Weight: 5 Age: 0yrs 5mths 1wks

Adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter and first vaccines, medical exam, and microchip.
How to Adopt from Foothills Animal Shelter:
Visit the Shelter or one of our offsite adoption partner locations to find a pet. Once you’ve decided on an animal, you should check with staff to see the status and history of the animal. At this time, you can fill out an adoption application and visit with the animal.
We recommend you bring all family members to the Shelter to meet with the animal before you consider adopting. If you are interested in adopting a dog, bring any household dogs to the Shelter to determine if it is a good match. Also, if you rent your home, please bring the pet policy in your lease or rental agreement and contact information for your landlord.
Once your application is reviewed, you can pay the adoption fees and take your new pet home. It may take some time for your new pet to adjust to its new environment. If you have questions or concerns after adopting, please contact us at 303-278-7575.
