Alder came to us beat up by the world, He had an URI a fever and tested faint positive FeLV. Well, now he has been given a clean bill of health and this guy has been living in the free roam room. A social butterfly is he, for sure. More about this shelter

Van Wert is a small rural community. The Van Wert County Humane Society has seen hard times in the past but since the Humane Society is under a new board, things have changed for the better and we work hard to care for and adopt the animals at the shelter. We have a small base of volunteers that will come and spend time with the animals at the shelter. We take donations of any sort, and the Humane Society is 501c3.
