My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Sugar Plum was brought in by a community member on December 7, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Introducing Sugar Plum, the ultimate adventure buddy wrapped in a bundle of wiggles and zoomies! This happy-go-lucky gal is here to sprinkle a little sweetness and a whole lot of energy into your life. Sugar Plum can be just a bit shy when she first meets you, but with time, a bit of patience and a few treats she quickly warms up. Forget about a boring, sedentary lifestyle-Sugar Plum is all about exploring the great outdoors, chasing new experiences (and tennis balls!), and sharing a world of fun with her new family. Sugar Plum's philosophy on fetch is simple: the chase is where it's at! She's more interested in the thrill of the run than in silly things like "returning" the ball. But don't worry-her boundless enthusiasm and endearing quirks will have you laughing and cheering her on at every sprint. Whether it's a hiking trail, a beach, or just the backyard, Sugar Plum is ready to make it her playground. Looking for a partner to match your active lifestyle? Sugar Plum's got your back. She'll keep you on your toes, remind you to live in the moment, and show you that the best kind of exercise involves tail wags and belly laughs. Just grab a leash, a collar, and maybe a few tennis balls (for her collection), and prepare to embark on a lifetime of adventures with this spirited gal. Don't let her pass you by-Sugar Plum is ready to make every day a fun-filled celebration of life. Adopt her today and get ready for a world of wiggles, zoomies, and unforgettable memories!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
