Meet Otis! Otis is a handsome and energetic large-breed dog with a big heart and a love for adventure. While he’s selective with other dogs, he could do well with young, friendly canine companions after proper introductions. Otis thrives in a home where he can be active and engaged, and his loyalty and affection make him a wonderful addition to the right family. If you’re looking for a devoted companion who’s ready to learn and grow with you, Otis is eager to meet his forever family!
Otis`s Information & Ideal Family:
Size: 35 kg - Large breed, with plenty of energy and strength to match!
Home Type: House or townhouse - No apartments, as his working breed instincts require space and stimulation.
Children: Best suited for a home with older, dog-savvy children who understand how to interact respectfully with a large, energetic dog.
Cats & Small Animals: Not suitable for homes with cats, small dogs, or small animals due to his prey drive.
Other Dogs: Selective with other dogs but could potentially do well with young, friendly dogs after slow and positive introductions.
Activity/Energy Level: Otis is a high-moderate energy dog, working-breed dog who thrives on activity. Long walks, mental stimulation, and a family dedicated to meeting his exercise needs are essential.
Human Compatibility: Otis adores people and loves spending time with his family. He’s eager to please and will benefit from a committed owner who can continue his training and help him reach his full potential.
Training Requirements/Needs: Otis’s leash skills are improving, and he’s learning “sit.” However, he can be reactive on leash, particularly to cars and other dogs, and may lunge in their direction. His new family should be prepared to work on this behaviour with positive reinforcement techniques. He will need to be signed up for 1 in person positive reinforcement training session with a certified trainer or an online GoodPup scholarship!
Human Social: Otis is a people-lover through and through. His affectionate nature and love for his humans make him a wonderful companion for those ready to invest in his care and training.
Favourite Things: Otis loves going for long walks, spending time with his family, and learning new skills. He’s happiest when he’s active and engaged.

Come into the Centre and if you see a pet you like, you are able to do a "Meet and Greet" with that pet. Spend some time in alone with the pet or take a dog out for a short walk. If you are still interested in adopting the pet you can meet with one of our Adoption Counsellors who will have you fill out and application and will ask you some questions about the environment in which you live. If you seem like a wonderful match and your envirnoment meets the needs of the pet then your application should be approved!
