My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**We adopt our dogs to families within 50 miles of our facility in Malibu, CA. All applications are screened for compatibility with the dog of interest. We might ask for pictures of the home and yard. If you are interested in being considered as a potential adopter, please fill out our online application at www.samsimonfoundation.org. Follow the tabs to 'dogs for adoption'.

Teddy is an active dog who loves everything, especially playing with other dogs. (we don't know about cats) He is affectionate with people and is very smart. He has a lot to learn in regard to obedience but is improving. He is strong and will pull on the leash from time to time so he needs someone with a strong upper body. He also tends to turn quickly and may trip a person walking him so he needs someone with good balance. He came to us from an animal shelter and had no previous training. He has a zest for life and an abundance of enthusiasm which just needs to be contained from time to time. He is a very smart dog and eager to learn. He loves his training sessions. We are looking for someone who has the time and the interest in continuing his training so that he can be the best version of himself.

He loves to go for walks and is doing better about not barking at other dogs that he sees. He barks because he wants to meet them, he is not dog aggressive. But, we are working on teaching him to ignore other dogs while out on a walk.

Teddy does not like being home alone. Many dogs who have felt abandoned in the past don't. He bark while home alone so we are looking for someone who is at home most of the time and has the time to work with him.

He has been vaccinated for the basic viruses and is very healthy.

it is our policy to invite potential adopters here to our facility to meet the dog first. If, after that meeting we all feel like it is a compatible match, then we ask the potential adopter to think it over for 24 hours. After that, if it still feels right by all, then a trainer from The Sam Simon Foundation will bring to dog to your home for the final yard check and adoption.
If you live within 50 miles of Malibu, CA and would like more information, please fill out our online application on our website at www.samsimonfoundation.org. We might ask you to send pictures and videos of your home and yard. If we feel you might be compatible we will contact you to arrange a meet and greet.
