Chula is living in a foster home. Please submit an application from our website and/or email dogs@heartlandanimalshelter.org to learn if you are a match!
Chula comes to us all the way from Texas, where she was found outside as a stray. Chula had clearly been used for breeding. When we saw her pictures and read her story, we knew we could give her a great life up here. Chula landed in an awesome foster home where she lives happily with another dog. Chula is housebroken, crate trained, and loves going for leisurely walks and car rides. This girl also loves to eat, so she is very trainable and really enjoys enrichment games like puzzles and lick mats. Chula loves everyone she meets, and is hoping to meet her forever family soon!
Chula's foster mom writes, "Chula is just lovely and loving. She sleeps well through the night, is crate trained, and does not seem to have separation anxiety. She has a great appetite (wet food; dry food that has been wetted; jerky treats broken into smaller pieces; cooked chicken cut up). Really there isn't anything this girl did not like while staying with us. She will greet you with lots of hugs, kisses , and show you her tummy for belly rubs every morning and every time you come into the house."
Chula’s adoption fee is $250. This animal is spayed, has had a recent dental through Heartland, and is up to date on core vaccines.
Chula is Heartworm positive and is undergoing treatment with us. Heartland will cover the cost of treatment until she is Heartworm negative. Heartworm is a mosquito-borne disease that is not contagious to other pets or humans. It is treatable and curable. Chula will need to be on exercise restriction while she undergoes treatment. Chula must be present on the following dates for her treatments: 1/7/25, 2/6/25,/2/7/25. The adopter should follow up with their 9 months after the last injection for a re-test that should be negative at that time.
