My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Swiss. I am from Alabama.

I was exposed to Parvo at a young age and some of my siblings passed away. My remaining siblings and I survived and now we need your help finding our furever homes in MN!

From her foster: Swiss is a typical puppy. She has big puppy energy and crashes hard when she’s done playing. She loves playing with other dogs. Her play is big and she’s learning to take cues from her playmates when they are done playing. She is a great smuggler when she's ready to nap and if she's a bit wild I will have her sit in my lap and pet her tummy and she calms right down.

Swiss is always excited to eat. We are working on wait when her food goes down. We are also fostering her sister and they sometimes feed off of each others excitement at dinner time.

Potty training is in progress. She is doing pretty well on a schedule. She will use a potty pad if we don’t get her outside but accidents are probably more our fault than hers.

Swiss sleeps in her crate at night and keeps her crate clean. I work from home so she isn’t crated too much during the day but she is crated when we are gone or if her and her sister need some time to settle. She can be a little vocal when she goes in but she settles down quickly.

Swiss has done well with car rides and she is walking on leash well (especially when she has her foster brother to follow). She will stop and listen at new sounds or when something catches her attention but after some reassurance she continues her walk. She is a little shy at first when meeting new people but she warms up quickly.

She is a really sweet girl. Because her play style is big and she still has her puppy excitement, toddlers might not be the best match. I do think a basic obedience class would be great for her. She will be a great addition to her forever family.

Go meet their pets

The Bond Between's goal is to not keep any animals at our rescue office. The majority of our animals are living in foster homes until they are adopted. Occasionally, animals are living in our rescue office that are in need of a foster home.

If you would like to meet an animal at our office who needs a foster, please reach out to inofficeanimals@thebondbetween.org and fill out our foster interest form at https://www.thebondbetween.org/foster

More about this rescue

The Bond Between is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that focuses on the bond between humans and animals. We were founded in 2009 as Secondhand Hounds. Since then, we have rescued over 29,000 dogs and cats with the help of thousands of fosters, volunteers, and supporters in our community. Our organization has grown from a rescue to a first-in-its-class animal wellbeing organization... now The Bond Between! We continue to provide safe shelter, proper veterinary care, and daily necessities for animals while working hard to help them build a bond with humans. We also focus on supporting the bonds that already exist between people and pets with our pet food shelf, respite foster care program, and focus on social services.

We wake up every morning saying YES to connecting people and animals, caring for them, and helping them fill each other’s hearts.

You can help support us today by donating, fostering, volunteering, or sharing The Bond Between.
