Name: Heidi
Animal ID: 567544
Gender: Female
Age: 24 years old
Breed: Quarter horse cross
Height: 13.2hh
Adoption Fee: $600
Location: Hempstead
Adopter experience needed: Beginner/Intermediate
Training level: Broke to ride
Current assessment and personality: Heidi is a very social and gentle mare. She gets along well with other horses and isn't very dominant. She is fully broke to ride and neck reins. She is mostly quiet, but very willing. However, once she is tacked up and ready, she loves having a job and is excited for new challenges and obstacles. She seems very forgiving under saddle therefore we think she would make a good beginner horse. Due to her age, we would like to pair her with a rider who is gentle and understanding of her needs.
Potential: No limitations
Health/lameness: Heidi is blind in her right eye, but it does not affect her. A lot of her teeth are worn down and she is missing some of her lower incisors. As a result, her tongue can sometimes fall out of her mouth, which is just a cosmetic issue and does not seem to bother her. We have her on soaked alfalfa pellets. Although she still seems to be comfortable eating regular forage at this time, we recommend keeping her on the pelleted feed.
Loads and Trailers: Yes
Leads: Yes
Catch in pasture: Yes
Stands for farrier: Yes
Ties: Yes
Bathes: Yes
