Meet Benji, a sweet and loving 9-year-old Dachshund-Beagle mix who’s ready to make your holiday season extra special! This dude is simply an awesome dog that is a fit for almost any family.
Benji’s heart is as big as his cuddles – he’s incredibly friendly and absolutely loves being the center of attention. If you aren’t giving him enough attention that he knows he deserves, then he will nudge you until you start loving on him. And when you come home from a long day – he will greet you with a dance and the cutest tail wag. He is almost always wagging his tai.
Sadly, Benji lost his owner, and he’s now in rescue, waiting for a new family to love him. He may have experienced loss, but his kind spirit is as strong as ever. If you're looking for a loyal, loving, and easygoing companion to spend the holidays (and beyond) with, Benji is your guy!
Whether it's snuggling up on the couch or lounging in a cozy spot by your side, Benji will make sure you're never alone. His favorite place to sleep? Right next to you, of course! He won’t settle for anything less than the comfort of being in bed with his human. And if you like sleeping in, the Benji is your perfect bed buddy – he’s not a morning dog and won’t be rousing you at the crack of dawn.
Benji is a social guy who gets along with everyone – dogs, cats, kids – you name it! He would do great with a family with kids over five, but would be a great host to visiting smaller kids as well.
He went to a Christmas festival and made so many new friends – everyone loved Benjii. His gentle, calm demeanor makes him an ideal companion for families or single pet owners alike. Plus, he’s already housetrained, so he’ll be a low-maintenance buddy for you. He’s not a fan of the crate, so his new family will need to work on crate training if that’s their prefernace. But he does just fine in a gated area or left out – he’s not one to get into mischief.
Benjii is UTD on shots, neutered, heartworm negative, microchipped, and started on preventions. He had bloodwork (no issues) and a dental while in rescue. His new family will need to drive to Raleigh to adopt her – to transports. We prefer to adopt to families in NC, VA, SC, DC area, WV, eastern TN, northern GA, DC area and southern MD.
