Toffee was found alone, full of mats and fleas. She had been abandoned out in the cold and dark and was looking for someone to help, when a kind lady brought her in. She gave Toffee a bath and took her to the vet to scan for a chip, but none was found. Because Toffee was still so dirty and matted, the kind lady took her to the groomer to be shaved down. There were no responses to the kind lady's posts and a few neighbors said they had seen the dog for a couple days wandering around, but didn't want to bring her in because she was so dirty and had fleas. We are thankful for the kind people that go out of their way and out of their comfort zone to help furry babies in need.
Toffee is almost 100% potty trained. She is great on the leash and does like to go for short walks. Toffee is not a fan of being crated and will whine at first but does settle down after a few minutes. She is very friendly and definitely a lap dog. She is not super energetic for a puppy. Toffee is good with dogs, cats, and kids but will need a diligent owner to help her with potty training. A home where someone is around all the time would be ideal since Toffee is not a fan of being crated.
Because she has a shaved coat now it is hard to think about grooming, but she will need to have frequent brushing and trips to get groomed every 6-8 weeks
