Meet Cooper #H21253, a little orange tabby with a big personality! Cooper is a social butterfly who loves to be the center of attention! He’s not shy about letting you know when he’s ready for some playtime or affection. Cooper will thrive in a home where he’s given plenty of playtime, attention, and lots of love.
Cooper was rescued as a tiny orphaned kitten fighting pneumonia at just 3 weeks old. Thanks to our devoted medical team, Cooper was given a chance at life and was able to begin healing. While he overcame the initial infection, Cooper is still dealing with some long-term effects, such as chronic rhinitis.
In addition to this, Cooper has tested positive for FELV (feline leukemia virus). In short, this means that Cooper is immunocompromised and he should only be around other cats who are also FELV+. While FELV does weaken the cats’ immune system leaving them more susceptible to potential illness, the virus itself does not cause pain and many cats with FELV are able to live perfectly happy (though typically shorter than average) lives. Medical care for some of Cooper’s chronic conditions will be covered when treated at our Pet Health Center located on our Port Washington campus.
Despite all he has been through, Cooper is determined to live each day to the fullest, finding joy and excitement in even the smallest of things. If you’re looking for a cat with lots of purrsonality, Cooper could be your perfect match!
