My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

~~THIS IS A COURTESY POST. THIS DOG IS **NOT** IN THE CARE OF THE ALTERNATIVE HUMANE SOCIETY. PLEASE REACH OUT TO THE OWNER DIRECTLY AT garywalshtopnotch@gmail.com   THANK YOU~~

Mia is a 3.5 year old pit/lab mix. I adopted her in 2021 and the moment I looked into her eyes, I was in love.

I love Mia with all my heart and I have tried to make it work for the past year, but it is incredibly challenging. She is a highly energetic girl and leaving her locked inside the house all day, while I am working, is just not the life I want for her. The financial burden of having two dogs has also been quite challenging. I wish I had more time and resources to allocate to Mia, but I don’t and I want us both to be able to live fuller lives. Saying goodbye to Mia is going to absolutely break my heart, but finding her a good home, will certainly soften the blow.

Mia is incredibly sweet and is the ultimate snuggler. She does great at dog parks and loves going on hikes. Mia gets along well with other dogs, children and adults but due to her bouts of energy and the fact she will jump up on people when she first sees them extra caution needs to be taken around small children or elderly people. Mia loves playing tug of war and going for rides in the truck. She is a great companion when working out in the yard and does a great job chasing bunnies away from the garden.

The ideal home for Mia would have a large open yard on land, or a fenced in yard. Somewhere where she can go get “the zoomies” out. Mia does like to wander but always come back when called. A home where she can play outside and be given plenty of attention is ideal. Mia loves curling up on the couch or in bed and snuggling for hours.

Mia is a real companion pup. She loves to burrow up right next to you in bed or on the couch and isn’t shy to give some licks on the face. She will follow you around when your mowing the lawn or dinking around the property and is quick to jump in the car and go for a ride. You rarely are starved for attention and always feel loved when Mia is around.
