My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Leona is between 1–2 years old and weighs 63 pounds. She has a playful puppy spirit, but is also calm and an easy companion. She is good with other dogs, cats, and children. Leona loves to play fetch and snuggle up on a soft dog bed, the floor, or on the couch with you.

With her silky black coat and feathered tail, she may be a flat-coated retriever. Leona is crate trained abd housebroken. Like a typical puppy, she still needs supervision and might chew on items if left unattended.

Leona has made an incredible recovery from a severe case of pneumonia and is now healthy and thriving. This sweet, beautiful girl is ready to bring love and joy to a family willing to offer her companionship, supervision, and plenty of snuggles! Apply at bcaaofnj.org

Our adoption process starts with the applicant filling out an adoption application for the pet they are interested in. When they have completed and submitted the application, the screening process is started, which consists of a vet check, phone interview and home visit. Once all the steps are completed, we determine, by our findings, if they are approved, and if so, then they are allowed to adopt from our organization. The final step is they must complete the adoption contract, along with the donation for the animal, which goes into our medical fund to defray their medical costs. All of our animals are spayed and neutered, up to date on all their shots, including rabies, they are parasite free and on heartworm preventative.

More about this rescue

We are the Burlington County Animal Alliance (BCAA)located in Central New Jersey. We are a non-profit organization 501(3)(c), all volunteer rescue that saves animals from our local shelter and surrounding areas of New Jersey that are in danger of being euthanized. We take them into our program, get them the necessary medical care they need and adopt them back out to loving forever homes. We have 60 volunteers, many that open their homes to foster the homeless animals, we do fundraisers to raise money so we can continue to save the dogs and cats in need. We run strictly on donations from our adoptions and people who support our work.BCAA adopts to families in New Jersey, parts of Southeastern Pennsylvania and parts of New York.
