Meet Bob! AKA Mango Bob.

He is a 2yr old neutered German shepherd golden retriever mix and 62lbs of beautiful soft fluff.

Bob is the best dog! He will be your loyal best friend who just wants your love and snuggles. He is well behaved and gentle with kids of all ages and great with other dogs and cats. He has great leash manners and loves to play with other dogs at the dog park. He listens very well and comes right away when you call him.

Bob is crate trained and potty trained and up to date on shots. Bob is the best dog ever! He is the sweetest most gentle beautiful soft fluffy friend who resembles a golden wolf. He is the goodest boy who is waiting for his perfect family.

Their adoption process

1.
Submit Application

We will only be calling applications that are a possible match for the dog or cat.

2.
Interview

The case manager of that dog or cat will contact you by phone or email to set up a meet and greet,if you are a possible match for them.

3.
Meet the Pet

If they think you are a good match, we may set up a home visit or the case manager will request pictures of your home.

4.
Sign Adoption Contract

Take the Pet Home

All pets have a 10 day adjustment period for a home visit.

Additional adoption info

AHS does not do same-day adoptions. We provide a form called a “Statement of Interest” for potential adopters to fill out. When completed, this form is reviewed by an AHS volunteer (the animal’s Case Manager) who will contact the potential adopter with any additional questions and arrange a meeting if it looks like a good match. those who look like a good match.
Adoption fees for DOGS are:
Puppies (up to age 18 months): $400(plus $170 spay/neuter deposit)
Adult (18 months - 8 years old): $325
Seniors (8 years and up): $200
(There is an additional $170 spay/neuter deposit for Adults/Seniors not already neutered/spayed.)
Adoption fees for CATS are:
Kittens up to 6 months.-$200
Young adult cats 7 months -3 years $175
Adults cats - 4-7 years -$150
Seniors cats-8 and up. $100
Fee includes basic shots, spay or neuter, and microchip
All cats are FIV/FELV tested

The Alternative Humane Society is an all-volunteer, nonprofit animal welfare organization serving Whatcom County, WA. AHS has been helping animals and educating the public since 1977.

We have no shelter, office, or paid staff. Our programs include Canine and Feline Foster & Adoption, Spay & Neuter Assistance, and Community Cats Information and Referral.

Mission Statement: The Alternative Humane Society of Whatcom County is an all-volunteer, non-profit animal welfare organization dedicated to improving the lives of dogs and cats and helping them find and stay in permanent loving homes.

• To make Whatcom County a community where no healthy animals are euthanized
